I had to schlep myself from Chicago to Ann Arbor today in a Jeep best designed for trails as opposed to the interstate, all so I can drive some stuff tomorrow at a place that the public can’t access. The things I do for you people…
But I digress.
I am in Michigan for some test-driving, hence the late QOTD and the lack of UCOTD today (and likely, tomorrow). On my way here, I felt myself getting a little sleepy, and I knew I needed my afternoon jolt of caffeine. I searched in vain for a Starbucks — I was in the middle of nowhere, where gas stations and McDonald’s would be my only options. Mickey D’s FTW.
I suppose my predilection for Starbucks marks me as a yuppie, but I like Dunkin’, too. Biggby Coffee, a chain I see here in Michigan, is also a good choice. Tim Horton’s is solid. Panera, McD’s — if it’s halfway decent java I ain’t complaining. But I have my preferences.
What about you? Do you search out a certain chain during cross-country sojourns? Or are you just getting whatever’s available at the next exit?
Sound off below.
