LOS ANGELES — Electric-car maker Lucid has added a new trim level to its Gravity SUV lineup. The California-based luxury marque has come out with Touring trim for the Gravity.
Starting at $79,900, the Lucid Gravity Touring will be aimed at getting buyers into the brand at a lower price point. It’s a seven-seater with mid-size dimensions.
It has the North American Charging Standard (NACS) and an 89 kWh pack. Lucid is promising a range of 337 miles, and NACS will allow drivers access to Tesla’s supercharging network as well as Electrify America DC fast-charging stations and other DC fast-charging stations. Charging speeds can be up to 300 kW at 1000V fast-charging stations, which would allow a driver to add 200 miles of range in 15 minutes.
The Gravity Touring can charge up to 220 kW at Tesla stations because Lucid has a proprietary rear motor drive unit that can boost charging capability. In this case it boosts the 500V of the station to match the voltage of the car’s battery pack.
“The Lucid Gravity Touring unlocks a new audience for the Lucid brand in the broad and critical SUV segment,” said Marc Winterhoff, Interim CEO at Lucid, said in the press release. “There’s not another SUV in its segment that can deliver the combination of range, interior space, and driving performance found in the Lucid Gravity Touring.”
Lucid is promising a 0-60 sprint in just four seconds thanks to 560 system horsepower. Buyers can choose between five and seven seats, with the former offering up to 120 cubic feet of cargo space.
An air suspension is standard, with an “Dynamic Handling Package” offered.
Inside is a 34-inch curved 6K OLED display, and an advanced driver-assist system is offered. Over-the-air updates are available.
Orders are now open, with some versions being available for delivery now.
