Arizona might do away with speed limits on rural roads.

American states have tried this before — remember Montana and “reasonable and prudent”? It seemed like a good idea — but how do we judge “reasonable and prudent”? Does it matter if the car is in good shape, or if the driver is driving in a manner that’s safe, even at high speeds?

How does that standard work if someone fights a ticket? What about finding blame for a wreck?
